Things to see in and around Lovelock

  • Pershing County Courthouse, Venue for History Portrayed - Lovelock - Designed by noted architect Frederick J. DeLongchamps, built in 1919, it occupies a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Marzen House Museum, Relics of the past preserved - Lovelock - Named for an early rancher this building records such memories as Charlie Chaplin's leading lady, Edna Purviance, who grew up here in Lovelock.

  • Wildlife Abounds, Who's Watching Whom? - Unionville - Mule deer are frequently seen early morning or late evening in this peaceful canyon with pure water and green grass.

  • Pool of Many Purposes, Guarded by the Clock Tower - Lovelock - Safety training, swim meet, or just plain splashing around are yours for enjoying in our Olympic-size public swimming pool, a refuge from the summer heat.

  • Old Pioneer Garden B&B, Relax and view the Old West - Unionville - For a historic study or a quiet get-a-way this experience is unique for home grown meals by gracious hosts.

  • Playground on the Strip, Something for Everyone - Lovelock - children of all ages can find something to do in our strip park, shaded with trees of many species and carpeted with spacious lawn.

  • Spokes of Time - Unionville - Historic building are a plenty in this the first county seat of what was at that time Humboldt County. Mark Twain made his presence known here.

  • Reservoir of Many Uses - Rye Patch - Open year round, developed by the Nevada Division of State Parks for your benefit and enjoyment offering most outdoor recreation opportunities.

  • Mines of Metal - Old rochester - The area boasts the nation's largest silver mine. Coeur Rochester rests near the site of Old Rochester, a short drive from Lovelock.

  • Let's Rodeo - Lovelock - Whether Jr. or Sr. Rodeo, both annually bring competitors from far and wide for fun and comradery in the arena.

  • Tufa Rock on Guard - Lovelock - These remnants of the ancient Lake Lahontan stand guard over the green "Big Meadow" valley along the Humboldt River, a rest stop for early emigrants.

  • Depot, On the road to Recovery - Lovelock - The Depot restoration is complete and this landmark is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Stop in and enjoy a great sandwich or ice cream concoction and enjoy this historic building.

  • Library Spoken or Written, Recorded, and Read - Lovelock - Much of the history of Pershing County, the City of Lovelock, and the people who played a role in their develpment is available in our public Library.

  • Desert Flowers Released by Spring Rains - Pershing County - No greater beauty is there than that found in the desert after a series of spring rains. You need not travel far from Lovelock to see Mother Nature's paintings.
